There are more than 15 black owned hotels and resorts through out the Caribbean.  There are different sizes from small boutique style hotels, villas and intimate resorts to meet anyone’s needs.  If you haven’t made your vacation plans yet why not consider one of our top 4 resorts that are listed below.  Maybe you will find one that is a must visit.

La Maison Michelle Luxury Villa – Location: Barbados

This is a villa that sits on a hilltop in one of the upscale areas and offers panoramic views of Barbados’s western shores.  It has seven suites on 10,000 square feet of luxury indoor and outdoor living space. The property offers full house staff who are very friendly, accommodating and will serve you delicious local dishes, great cocktails or whatever your heart desires.  You can work off all that delicious food in the fitness room or do a few laps in the spacious pool.  This is a beautiful villa great for private parties, weddings or family getaways.  The location is ideal because it’s only a mile away from Holetown where you can experience the nightlife visiting local restaurants or bars.

Ocean West Boutique Hotel – Location: Bahamas

Ocean West is a lovely luxury 10 room boutique hotel in Nassau, Bahamas.  This hotel has remote access only for quest which provides exclusive privacy.  There are breathtaking views of Lake Killarney which is south and the Atlantic Ocean to the north.  They have one restaurant on the property called Sapodilla, which serves delicious traditional and Bahamian cuisine and a bar that serves great tropical cocktails.   There is an outdoor pool and a rooftop gym with great views.  Take a taxi to Cable beach which has exciting nightlife such as a casino, fine dining, bars and it’s only a few minutes away.  If you are doing the family vaykay kids age 11 and under stay at no extra cost with an adult.  This hotel might be small but it is big on luxury.

Spice Island Beach Resort – Location: Grenada

Spice Island Beach Resort is a 64 suite boutique property located on the beautiful world famous Grand Anse Beach.  This resort is all-inclusive and offers luxury amenities.  There are two restaurants for you to experience some delicious local cuisine.  A beautiful tropical pool area and complimentary water sports such as hobie-cats and snorkeling gear.  Hopefully that will encourage you to splash around and get wet.  The beach is beautiful with clear blue waters, you might not want to sit by the pool.  Janissa’s Spa is absolutely beautiful and the smells of fresh herbs, chocolate and spice will make you feel relaxed as soon as you walk in.  If you are a yogi there is a wonderfully peaceful ocean front covered yoga pavilion overlooking the beautiful sea, it is very zen.  The owners of this resort takes pride in making sure that they protect the environment, for example, the pool is salt chlorine, they use home grown herbs for their restaurants, natural composting and replanting of beach front trees is a must.  

At this resort you will be treated like family.  Make sure to visit the Saturday market and get some spices and herbs to take back home!

La Creole Beach Hotel & Spa – Guadeloupe

This resort has 211 lovely airy guest rooms with balconies and is located on a small beautiful beach in Le Gosier.  There are two restaurants, a cocktail lounge with a lovely terrace, a luxury spa and a variety of fun water sports. Kids age 12 and under stay free with an adult.  The hotel is located in a great area that is walking distance to local restaurants, bars and a casino.  It will be worth your while to go and enjoy the local french cuisine and have a fancy cocktail at one of the local bars.  If you are there on a Friday night make sure you to go to one of the markets that are located down on the waterfront. There is usually a lot of people shopping, locals selling arts and crafts and souvenir gifts to bring home.  You can also purchase local exotic fruits and vegetables.

Guadeloupe has a laid back “Frenchy vibe” with beautiful landscapes and sunsets.   Let yourself relax and enjoy all this wonderful island has to offer, you will want to return again and again.
